Mapping Volunteerism *Update*
Volunteerism is catching on at Vardablur Secondary School!
In the spring of 2011, students participated in a series of events aimed at inspiring them to get involved.
Students at the school initially competed in a poster contest with the theme "Citizen, the Nation, and Freedom." Of the 15 entries, there was one winner from the lower grades and one from the upper grades.
Then, on March 1, 2011, more than 30 students, teachers and administrators gathered for a presentation on the importance of volunteering. The speakers included Lilit Hovhannisyan, a Program Manager for the Civic Development and Partnership Foundation, and Zara Sananyan, a university student with experience volunteering with PCVs.
Ten student and adult volunteers later came together to paint a school mural of a world map. PCV Robby Robinette obtained an FOA grant to purchase supplies for the project.
Thank you FOA donors for your support!
